Excalibur 3900B 9-Tray Food Dehydrator
Approx. Price: $319.99
Excalibur’s 9300B Food Dehydrator provides 15 square feet of drying space for dehydrating food reserves.
Dehydrating food is a relatively inexpensive, easy way to create your own camping foods, snacks, or (with careful antibacterial methods) emergency food reserves. Cooking ingredients can be dehydrated, powdered and kept in the cupboard for use in cooking. Among the foods you can dehydrate are fruits, vegetables, nuts, meat for jerky, and fruit puree for fruit roll-ups. You can also raise bread and make homemade yogurt.
Large Enough To Create Food Reserves
Excalibur’s 3900B Electric Food Dehydrator features 9 plastic trays, providing 15 square feet of drying space. It features an adjustable thermostat range of 105°F to 165°F, and a 7″ fan for excellent air circulation. Excalibur’s patented hyperwave technology and horizontal parallex drying removes water from food with a continuous circulation of thermostatically-controlled warm air.
An Investment For Regular Users
Food dehydration is fairly straightforward but requires time and attention. Learning to preserve your food of choice requires reading and practice. Research is especially necessary when dehydrating meat, or when your goal is long-term food storage. Food dehydrators use a fan to circulate air, which produces noise. The Excalibur 3900B uses 600 Watts of power.
